Have A Nice Life
I wrote "Have a Nice Life" both as a tribute to Anne and Nancy Wilson, and to capture something I'd felt but never said out loud — that particular calm that comes after you're finally done fighting someone. It's not a screaming, door-slamming breakup song; it's the opposite. I wanted the singer to sound completely in control, almost amused, watching someone who spent years taking advantage finally get handed the bill. The chorus is where the whole attitude lives: wishing them well with just enough venom underneath that everyone knows it's not really a well-wish at all. By the end, there's no big cathartic explosion, just a fall into silence, because that's what real closure actually sounds like: not loud, just gone.
